The SAIC Volkswagen Ningbo Plant, located in Qianwan New Area, was built from the outset to meet the global standards of the Volkswagen Group. It is one of SAIC Volkswagen's benchmark facilities for intelligent manufacturing.
Leveraging its high-standard intelligent manufacturing system, the Ningbo Plant is responsible for producing two major models: the ID. ERA 8X and the ID. ERA 9X. Together, they form a powerful duo in the brand's new energy vehicle lineup.
Previously, the ID. ERA 9X, also manufactured at the Ningbo Plant, earned recognition from both the market and authoritative institutions for its outstanding quality. Now, with the launch of the ID. ERA 8X, the two models complement each other across the mid-to-high-end market, creating a differentiated product portfolio. This demonstrates the plant's strong capabilities in flexible, multi-model manufacturing and highlights Qianwan's success in integrating German engineering quality with China's intelligent automotive technologies.
The automotive industry is a trillion-yuan-level industrial cluster in Ningbo Qianwan New Area. In recent years, Qianwan has accelerated the development of its automotive industry and actively attracted a wide range of high-quality projects.

Today, the area is home to two major automakers, with total vehicle production capacity exceeding 1.5 million units.
