According to the Defective Product Recall Technical Centre of the State Administration for Market Supervision, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co. and Beijing Benz Automotive Co. have filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Supervision in accordance with the ‘Regulations on the Administration of Defective Automotive Product Recalls’ and the ‘Measures for Implementing the Regulations on the Administration of Defective Automotive Product Recalls’. Since 27 November 2024, some imported A-Class, B-Class, CLA and GLA vehicles with production dates between 30 August 2011 and 3 April 2019, totalling 241,861 vehicles, and some domestic GLA vehicles with production dates between 13 March 2014 and 12 October 2019, totalling 281,233 vehicles, have been recalled.

Some vehicles within the scope of this recall are due to insufficient moisture-proof performance of the wheel speed sensor housing material, and when the vehicle is used for a long period of time in hot and humid environments, the wheel speed sensor may malfunction, resulting in the deactivation of some of the functions of the electronic body stabilisation system (e.g., ESP, ABS, etc.), which poses a potential safety hazard.

The recall was carried out in the context of a defect investigation initiated by the State Administration for Market Supervision. Affected by the investigation, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd. will, through Mercedes-Benz authorised dealers, inspect the wheel speed sensors free of charge for the vehicles within the recall scope, and replace them if they belong to a specific part number range, in order to eliminate the safety hazard.

Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd. will notify the concerned vehicle owners of this recall by registered mail or other means. Users can call the service hotline: 400-818-1188 for enquiry via landline or mobile phone (service hours are 24 hours a day, Monday to Sunday).
